Fake Flash Player Alert!

Fake Flash Player downloads are among the most notorious sources for viruses, malware, identity theft and ransomware.
Attached is a great example of what you might find when searching for a Flash Player update.

I NEVER recommend just clicking OK on a popup suggesting you need Flash Player updated. Many of these are fake. ALWAYS go directly to get.adobe.com and download it from there.

BUT.

Always wait until the dialog box fully loads before downloading. There will be TWO checkboxes in the middle of the dialog. They are both checked by default and will download and install crapware that you DO NOT NEED or want.

Uncheck these boxes first.

In the graphic here, you will notice the first 4 search results are bogus:

getflash.co/Free-Flash-Player is FAKE
FlashPlayer.App’Findr.org is FAKE
getflash.info is FAKE
Flash.Quality-Downloads is FAKE

The last two are legit.

Name: Wizard

Short Bio:

The Computer Wizard (TCW). TCW was founded by Warren P. Harris in 1994 to service and repair computers in the San Francisco Bay Area. Relocating the business to Plano, Texas in 1999, TCW continued to flourish when an unfortunate loss of data for a wedding Mr. Harris photographed, caused him to research data recovery options. Realizing he would have to either pay someone to recover the photos or find out how to do it himself, the rest, as they say “is history”. Approached by a friend who was a Private Investigator in 2006, Mr. Harris studied for his Investigator’s license and began honing his skills in Computer Forensics. The company was renamed DFW Computer Integration in 2015.
