Nextdoor Phishing Scam Alert
If you receive an email that looks like this:
Subject: Please verify your Nextdoor account
Verify (your email address here)
In order to start using your new Nextdoor email address, you must first verify this email by clicking the button below.
Didn’t change your email address? Click here (Hovering over this will show you the real destination)
Actually takes you to … nextdoor dot wufoo dot com/forms/xf6rf9t1li2hdj/
Which will ruin your day.
Everything else on the page goes to the legit Nextdoor site. They are counting on your response when you did NOT change your email address (and you know it) and are now thinking someone is trying to hijack your account. This entices you to click on the link because you did not change your email address. Fairly clever, actually. But not very nice.
Don’t click on the Click Here link.
Just don’t fall for this scam, OK?
