Criminals are harnessing this technology to empty your bank accounts.

Deepfakes are running wild. And are so believable, it is almost impossible to separate them from the real thing. AI can now realistically imitate emails from your closest connections. And it’s not just email you have to be concerned with now. Having sampled recordings found online, you can get a phone call that sounds exactly like the president of your bank. AI can – and does – harvest voicemails, podcast data, videos and messages. Chatbots are being harnessed to create very believable deepfakes of people you know and trust.

If you get a phone call, text or email asking you for ANY personal information (SS#, CVV, Pin code, password, etc.)

Hang up / close the connection immediately.

Pick up the phone and CALL your bank / investment company branch using your saved phone number. The one you always use. NEVER call a number included in a suspicious email or text. Use your saved number and speak directly with someone you know at the institution. Tell them what you received and they can tell you whether it is legit.
